Exhibit at Pamela Salisbury Gallery Summer 2023

These oil paintings started in 2016 with the abstract language I developed with my sculptures, but now they have a life of their own. They develop over time. I start with a painted response to something I’m looking at— an interior, or a landscape— then with thin layers of paint, I re-think, respond, to what was last left on the canvas, until a presence, a vibrance, or a sense of something real emerges. To read about the watercolors please see my Watercolors page.

There is a wonderful catalog essay by novelist Jane Mendelsohn to accompany the exhibit. Please contact the gallery to inquire about work that may be remaining or to buy a printed catalog.
