Bronze Sculptures
These sculptures were made in plaster and then cast into bronze. They were exhibited at John Davis Gallery summer of 2014 and Contemporary Sculpture at Chesterwood exhibition 2013, juried by Glenn Harper, ed. Sculpture magazine. They grow out of my fascination with dynamic equilibrium, how articulated motion can be implicit in a still form. I developed a method of using cast plaster form parts in a way that I can collage, model, and carve all in one piece, all from the same materials: plaster, water, and burlap. Since the forms begin hollow, I can manipulate them myself, cutting, connecting, modeling with tools, even when they are larger than I am.
